I Prandi Estate

Overview

I Prandi Estate, also site of the Marcato Winery, with its famous Durello Traditional Method is situated mainly on the Il Duello Hill between the two small villages of Roncà and Montecchia di Corsara, in the heart of the Soave Colli Scaligeri area and the Lessini area 30 km west of Vicenza and 30 km east of Verone.

Wineyards

I Prandi covers 6 hectares of land, completely planted with the native varieties Durello and Garganega divided into small plots. Il Duello vineyards covers 1 hectare. This land derives from the original Volcano Calvarina and is rich in mineral compounds, clay and basalt and is situated at an elevation that goes from 180 to 300 meters on the sea level facing south.

I Prandi is the original estate where the Marcato family started to grow vines in the twenties and began, after the second world war, in the sixties to sell its own wines. These grapes are now hand-picked within two weeks, between the second and third week of October and processed at the vinery sited in the I Prandi Estate.

Wines

Lessini Durello Traditional Method 36 mesi, Lessini Durello Traditional Method Vintage e Lessini Durello Traditional Method A.R. are produced from grapes of the owned vineyards, whereas the other wines “Il Duello” Recioto di Soave, the Lessini Durello Charmat Method and the Soave I Prandi are produced with grapes selected from the local ancient grape growers from Santa Margherita and Brenton in the village of Roncà.
