Marcato Durello

Overview

Site of the Marcato Winery, with its famous Durello Traditional Method is situated mainly on the Il Duello Hill between the two small villages of Roncà and Montecchia di Corsara, in the heart of the Soave Colli Scaligeri area and the Lessini area 30 km west of Vicenza and 30 km east of Verone.

Wineyards

Six hectares of land, completely planted with the native varieties Durello and Pinot Noir divided into small plots. This land derives from the original Volcano Calvarina and is rich in mineral compounds, clay and basalt and is situated at an elevation that goes from 180 to 300 meters on the sea level facing south.

Here is where the Family Marcato family started to grow vines in the twenties and began, after the second world war, in the sixties to sell its own wines. These grapes are now hand-picked within two weeks, between the second and third week of October and processed at the vinery sited in the I Prandi Estate.
